POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Masters Degree or all Masters Degree course work completed except a thesis/project.
  • Valid Washington State School Psychologist certification.
  • Provide various assessments and reassessments of a child’s abilities, learning styles, academic achievement levels, emotional development, aptitude, and social skills.
  • Integrate the information obtained into an accurate and useful overview of the child’s functional ability.
  • Facilitate multi-disciplinary team meetings.
  • Provide brief or crisis counseling as needed.
  • Confer with teachers, parents and others about the child’s learning achievement levels, social/emotional development, and individual needs for specially designed instruction.
  • Assist parents in recognizing the special needs of their child and help them deal realistically with those needs.
  • Work together with other agencies and service providers to plan appropriate programs for students with disabilities.
  • Complete Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Plans of students as needed.
  • Be knowledgeable of state and federal special education rules and regulations.
  • Work within state mandated time periods for meetings and assessments.
  • Assist with Washington Alternative Assessments.
  • Must be able to work well with staff, students, and parents.
  • Must be willing to log schedule for department planning purposes.
  • Knowledge of RTI process and be willing to share intervention ideas.
  • Follow District policies, rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

POSITION DETAILS:

  • 3.75 hours/5 days per week starting the 2024-25 school year.
